Section V had at least one representative in the WPIAL AAA finals every year throughout the decade with CV, Upper St. Clair and Peters Township winning six of the ten titles. Additionally, USC sported a 36-game unbeaten streak en route to back-to-back state championships and a No. 1 ranking in the nation before being upset by the Colts 2-0 in section play in 2005. Section V was represented in the PIAA Class AAA finals in five out of ten years during the decade with three teams leaving Hersey, PA champions. The beginning of the millennium saw two Colts garner All-American status, four earn Regional All-American recognition and six players secure All-State status.
